Bridal Assistant
$18/hr to be paid monthly
Our Bridal Assistant role is especially important on a wedding day as this person is primarily in charge of taking care of our brides on their big day. This person will be spending time with the wedding party during the morning & will need to take care of any needs that may arise including, but not limited to, making phone calls to vendors, cleaning the occasional stain, tidying up, being in charge of our wedding day emergency kit, and helping to keep everyone on track with the day-of timeline.
Must be able to stay calm under drama/pressure, be able to sew a few quick stitches, relate with family members, & maintain a mature & professional composure at all times. Must be able to work on your feet for long days (up to 8 hours) and lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
*Saturday availability is a must.
Event Team Member
$18/hr to be paid monthly
As a member of the Shelly Fortune Event Design team, you will be a face of our company on event days. Your job will be to assist in setting up the event, communicate with vendors, family, and wedding party, ensure day-of deadlines are met, solve any issues that may arise, and be proactive to prevent potential problems. Ideal applicants are able to take direction, stay calm under pressure, have good communication skills, and maintain a mature and professional composure at all times. Ability to work on your feet for long days (up to 14 hours) and lift a minimum of 30 lbs are a must. As events encompass activities both inside and out, essential functions of this job often include working outdoors. Must be able to work in all weather conditions and seasons, and be available on Saturdays.
Team Members are often split up between Setup Team (arrive earlier in the day & help with setting up the wedding reception / ceremony, overseeing vendor arrival, etc.) & Events Team (arrive later in the day to staff the actual event, assist wedding party, direct guests, cue toasts / dances, teardown at the end of the night, etc.), but may sometimes be assigned to both depending on staffing needs and/or location.
*Team members may also be assigned to work as venue representative for events at our venue, Clerestory.
