Lacy hired me in May to plan her early October wedding. She had a venue secured, but that was all. If that is not a testament to her easygoing nature, I don’t know what is!
Shaker Village, which has since become one of my favorite places, was chosen as the setting for the big day… On our first drive to the venue, Lacy’s mother drove to a big flat empty field behind a large shaker dwelling and said, “This is it,” I was in heaven. Every event planner loves the opportunity to create something from nothing, and this was it.
After some time spent uncovering Lacy’s vision for the day, the process was smooth sailing. At each turn, we laid out two options and she was always, without hesitation, able to make a choice. The end result, a fresh, classic and timeless design with just the right nod to fall. Lacy & Zach’s candle lit ceremony under the oak trees with dinner and dancing under the tent, and hay bales and a bon fire in the field created a night of memories none will forget.
